VOSD has been working on growth monitoring through health and MCH program from 1990 and so far 1,27,517 children and mothers have been covered but the total community people have been given MCH education. The main activities are: motivation, health education, identification of malnourished mothers and children, providing nutrition education, regular growth monitoring, education of balance diet preparation, ORS preparation, nutritional food education, providing curative health services through satellite clinics, providing food supports etc. Apart from these, referral services have been made to the high risked children to the Upazilla Health Complexes, Hospitals etc. and VOSD borne the costs of the very poor malnourished children and mothers.
