VOSD has been working on Arsenic awareness raising and mitigation activities from 1996 with the support of NGO Forum in all working areas and have got sufficient experience on it. Apart from, LGED/DPHE, DPHE, BAMWSP, UNDP, World Bank etc. have been supporting VOSD in this purpose and already, survey, motivation; awareness raising etc. activities have been imparted and continuing in 27 Upazillas of Barisal, Faridpur, Barguna, Chandpur and Gopalgonj Districts. It has also been making aware the people of the other areas through group meetings. VOSD with its own initiative, all the staff and volunteers have given orientation and training to concientize the rural people of working areas. So far it has covered approximately 50, 00,000 people.
