Most of the VOSD’s project areas are disaster prone and affected by river erosion, flood, cyclone, tidal bore etc. VOSD provides rural housing loans for the very poor group members and also provides houses to the disasters’ affected people, which is rehabilitation support of the donors. VOSD has been implementing rural housing program from 1988 with the support of Voluntary Health Service Society (VHSS),CONCERN-BD, UNDP, CDMP/DFID/UNDP, ICCO-Netherlands, Indian High Commission and Bangladesh Bank. So far it has established 3500 low-cost houses for the poor flood affected families with the support of CONCERN-BD, 1972 houses with the support of UNDP, 750 houses supported by Indian High Commission and 750 low-cost houses with the support of Bangladesh Bank, which is long time loan money. But the CONCERN-support and UNDP support was not loan money, it is rehabilitation money.
