Motivation and Institution building (Group Formation)

VOSD started motivation and group formation from 1987. It first selects the working areas, conducts baseline surveys and identifies targeted beneficiaries. After identification, motivates and educates the targeted people on the vision, mission, goal and objectives of the organization and also discusses about the activities. When they realize that they should be united and organized, then the staff organize them, form small groups, arrange weekly meetings, increase ideas, and collect weekly savings to build group capital for the poor beneficiaries for self-capital increase, develop group funds and continue those activities. The organized members are provided different capacity and skills arranging training courses, workshops and seminars. So far app. 10,50,000 targeted people have been organized into app. 54,254 savings groups and their accumulated savings size is Tk. 23,62,58,698/-, which is being used and revolved for undertaking income generating activities for them by the group members. It is important that about 90% groups are of women members.
