From our previous working experiences with the poor women, it has been found that the poor women are seriously lacking with skills and capitals. If they are provided skills training and capital, they can contribute a lot for the families, which will establish their rights and ownership in the families. So, VOSD has been implementing women’s awareness raising, group formation, management and professional skill development programs supported by IFADEP-1/CEC/MOWA from 1997 in Barisal, Chandpur, Jhalakhati, Faridpur, Barguna, Patuakhali and Gopalgonj districts and in other district with the support of other donors in different trades. So far, 25,000 women have made aware, literate, and provided professional skills development training and who have been involved in different income generating activities.
